This year we decided to keep things low-key and stress-free.. sounds to me like the best way to ring in a new year don't you? If only this could be my motto for the whole year!! We started off with a family dinner where we met up with both my sisters and their families at the rain forest cafe. It's one of my favorite and most kid-friendly resteraunts in town. They were having a pre new years bash for the kiddos that included ice cream, a balloon drop and other goodies, which they thought was the coolest thing ever. Not to mention Mr. ChaCha making his rounds and handing out high fives.. of course J was all over that one!

and you don't go to the rain forest cafe without getting the volcano.. that is a major no-no. :)

after dinner we headed home to chill out and start the countdown to midnight, but not before letting the kids have a little sparkler fun. Believe it or not the weather here was horrible and kind of still is so the "fireworks" were very few and far between. We just so happen to have these left over from July 4th, so we figured why not. We waited till the rain took a break and made a quick run for it.

2012 has been an amazing year for our family, but I think 2013 just might be our best yet.
