it's what you've all been waiting for right?? Well, I hope I can live up to the hype this room has created. The one word that best describes her room is "simple". Or at least that was my goal when all this first started. I kind of made it my mission to piece this room together and stay within a budget.
I got a lot of ideas from pinterest and project nursery. I'll list out my sources in case anyone wants to know specific details. Now I'll just let the pictures do the talking.. you'll just have to bare with the brightness in a few. I figured if I didn't jump at the five minute window I had today it wasn't getting done. :) Come on in..
I'm sure most of you saw my stencil progress on instagram.. I finally finished and it didn't take a lot of convincing to just do the one wall!!
The nursery wall art is probably one of my favorite parts to her room.. reading it just puts a smile on my face. Not to mention the blood, sweat and tears, yes tears that went into getting these babies hung just right. #hormones
I thought the curtains were going to be the death of me, but I won. I am horrible with curtains to be honest and I knew I would never find a purple to match just perfect so I played it safe and went with white. The mirror I caught on clearance at Hobby Lobby.. that was pure luck.
The minute I got my husband to agree on a name, I quickly ordered her bedding so he couldn't change his mind. Sneaky I know, but it worked! :)
I had originally put a big letter "A" in place of the LOVE sign, but the minute I ran across the tutorial on Pinterest I fell in love. I must say the purple really brings out the color factor and I feel is just what her room needed. I won't go into too much detail, but just picture a pregnant women in the front yard with a huge slab of bead board and a hand saw. Patience has never been my vertue so waiting for the hubby to get home was not happening. LOL
It's been a big work in progress and one that I am happy to have done. I've slowly been trying to get everything organized, clothes washed and things put in the right spot. Tomorrow we are having a little celebration with friends and family before her big arrival. I'd be lying if I said things haven't been a little crazy this week. K came down with some kind of stomach bug and while I thought we were over it I got a call from the nurse today to come and pick her up. I've got my fingers crossed for a fun weekend sick free.
Happy Friday!
