Welcome to the 4-0 Club!

Thursday, February 25, 2021
I woke up to the best birthday surprise ever.. breakfast made by my littles! It was super sweet and extra special because I get up early and am usually up before them but they set their alarms to get up before me! They had birthday balloons, flowers, cards and gifts. The whole day was special and put a smile on my face. I don't think it's hit me that I am officially in my 40's yet, pray it stays that away. LOL.

Snow Day Part II

Thursday, February 18, 2021
The fun just never ends.. I mean it's not often you see snow in Houston, let alone wake up another day and it still be there! Our kids were ecstatic and couldn't wait to get outside. This was the day they were going to build their snowman and see how long they stick around.

Snow Day Part I

Wednesday, February 17, 2021
Well folks, we got SNOW and a lot of it at that! We woke up to a winter wonderland on Monday and it just kept coming. We went without power for two nights which was rough but we made it. I don't think I've ever been more thankful for a gas stove in all my lifetime. When we weren't outside taking it all in we were nestled up on the couch sipping hot cocoa and thawing out. We had a houseful of snacks and three batches of cookies I made on Sunday. Lots of board games, ping pong matches and checkers were played to pass the time.

Valentine's Day

Monday, February 15, 2021
This year was pretty laid back compared to most.. for starters COVID is still on the forefront of our everyday lives and second we were preparing for a nasty snow storm. Valentine's day was still made special with a little extra love and special sweet treats. I made up a yummy dinner and then daddy and I enjoyed a movie and quiet time. February is one of my favorite months.. LOVE is in the air and right after that comes my birthday!! :)

Life Lately~ January

Monday, February 8, 2021
I can't believe how fast the time is going these days and it's been a whole month since I've blogged which is even crazier! The kids are keeping busy with school and before you know it they will have completed an entire school year at-home. We've most recently elected Katelynn's high school courses which is mind blowing. Jacob's gearing up for junior high and that's not something I'm ready for. They all three have done so good these past few months with all the changes being made. Our weather has been hit or miss literally.. one day it's shorts and the next it's hot cocoa bombs. LOL.

They've been spending their days after school fishing, bike riding, and playing outdoors. This month we celebrated grandma's birthday, girls got new do's and their rooms painted. I'm slowly trying to get things knocked off my house to-do list which I feel is never ending. Taking time off from social media and really diving head first into the new year and reaching new goals.

We most recently had to say goodbye to our sweet neighbor friends and that was a tough one. They've become best of friends and have sparked Katelynn's interest for babysitting. She's the oldest on our block and has become the one that looks after all the little one's. We will miss them dearly but will see them again for sure.

Happy 40th Birthday Steven

I have to say for being "home bound" we sure did pull off a fun day. I know this wasn't the BIG 4-0 we had envisioned but I do know he felt the LOVE and that's what matters most! He started his day fishing with Jacob which I know he enjoys the heck out of and while they were gone the girls and I got busy setting the table and making breakfast. His yard sign was a show stopper and was priceless because I didn't tell a soul which for me is shocking. He's assured me payback is coming. LOL.

Christmas Day 2020

Saturday, December 26, 2020
Christmas morning is always so magical and fun and something I look forward too all year long. The kids wake up super early and this year was no different although we did make them go back to bed until 7 am because there was no way we were opening gifts at 4:45 in the morning! I mean we at least have to wait until sunrise, especially for those that just went to bed! LOL.

Zeke went first and attacked his stocking.. I guess Santa thought he'd been a good boy even though I told him he's had a few hiccups. He's developed the I hear you and will come inside when I'm ready syndrome.

Merry Christmas

Christmas Eve 2020

Thursday, December 24, 2020
Christmas Eve we spent the day at home, baking cookies, making gumbo, watching Christmas movies and enjoying the company of grandma. The kids loved their gifts of course but I think they enjoyed just being together the most. Whilst it was different than years past and I missed my aunt's big family party it was nice not having to go anywhere for a change. I got all of my Mrs. Claus's duties done early and was able to enjoy my milk and cookies with Mr. Claus.
